Building and Electrical Permits

The City of Veneta contracts with the City of Cottage Grove for Building permits and Electrical permit services. The Cottage Grove Building Official and Electrical Inspector perform structural and fire-life structural plan review, on-site inspections, and code consultation for Veneta. Permits are submitted and issued via the State's ePermitting program or at Veneta City Hall.

Submitting & Purchasing Permits

The City of Veneta participates in the statewide ePermitting program. The full-service program lets contractors use a variety of online services, including purchasing permits, submitting electronic plans for review, receiving correction notes, printing permits, and tracking permit progress.

Architects, contractors, and engineers can submit documents through the ePermitting system or submit during Veneta City Hall business hours. All work on commercial properties must be done by a licensed contractor.

The Building Clerk can assist homeowners and other applicants in applying for a permit. Further information on the system can be obtained online or from the City of Veneta building staff at 541-935-2191. Please be aware that permit fee quotes cannot be given prior to permit submittal, as we may not know the full extent of what requires a permit, plan review, and/or inspection until a permit application for all work is submitted.

Search for a Permit

Anyone can check the status and search for permits that have been processed through ePermitting website.

Inspections

Persons with valid permits may request inspections either through the State ePermitting system, by contacting 541-942-9758 or 541-942-3340, or emailing permits. Inspection requests can be made through the ePermitting system during non-business hours. Requests made during non-business hours will be processed the next business day.
