The City of Veneta Public Meetings

The Veneta City Council consists of a mayor and four councilors elected from the city at large. At each biennial general election, two council positions are voted on, each for a four-year term. Read more information about the City Council.
The Veneta Planning Commission is comprised of 5 individuals appointed by the Mayor for terms of four years. The Commission is charged with making land use decisions on applications where any interpretation of code is necessary or discretionary criteria are employed.
Economic Development Committee
The Veneta Economic Development Committee is a citizen’s advisory committee to the Veneta City Council. The Committee is an action-oriented group of local residents and business owners looking to support existing businesses and attract new ones.
Business Assistance Committee
The Business Assistance Committee (BAC) members use their financial expertise to evaluate requests for assistance and make recommendations to the Veneta City Council. Learn more about how your business, start-up, or anything in between can apply to receive business assistance funding.
The Veneta Park Board is a citizen’s advisory committee to the Veneta City Council. The Park Board is instrumental in planning several signature events in our Community as well as planning for the acquisition and development of city parkland.
Urban Renewal Agency Board
The Veneta City Council serves as the Urban Renewal Agency Board and meets on the second Monday of each month at the conclusion of the City Council meeting.
The Budget Committee is an advisory group established by state statute. The committee is made up of the governing body of the local government (City Council) and an equal number of appointed citizens. In Veneta, the citizen members are appointed by the Mayor after a discussion with the City Council.
